About us
Your Holiday Matters was launched by twenty-six previously sane holiday property owners. Although spread across the globe, we had spent years coaching and encouraging each other -- online -- through the ups and downs of holiday rental ownership
Sadly, as holiday rentals increased in popularity so did the distressing “take the money and run” attitude of uninterested, or even unscrupulous, property owners. Worried about our guests (and burned by the occasional rental nightmare ourselves), we wondered if we could find other “Owners who Care” with a proven record of cheerfully ensuring that their guests' holidays are as delightful as possible.
As expected, we did! And so in April 2006, inspired by Marcus Smith, an owner himself, Your Holiday Matters was born.
The company continues to be run by a group of volunteer owners, some of whom are elected to serve a rotating 3 year period on the board.

Helen Beaumont, Membership ManagementHelen and her husband Julian have been renting their chalet apartment in Serre Chevalier in the French Alps since early 2006. She is a pharmacist in Co Durham, working for a small group of independent pharmacies. Helen joined the Board of Directors in Jan 2009, and has also managed the applications team for the past year and a half. |

Jane Bennett, PRJane has worked as a Speech and Language Therapist in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Bermuda and UK. She and husband Ron bought their lovely hilltop farmhouse in Gascony, SW France in 2005. Soon after, she stopped caring for patients and started caring for holidaymakers! She has been an active member of YourHolidayMatters since its birth, and loves it. |

Richard Kottler, Managing DirectorRichard owns a Villa and a smaller apartment in the pretty little town of Carvoeiro in The Algarve, Portugal. He has been renting these privately since 2003 Currently retired, but busier than ever developing various websites in the holiday rental sector. Prior to his now theoretical retirement, he was director of an international software company. |

Janet Meredith, FinanceJanet fell in love with the wonderful southern Charente Maritime in the mid 1990s when she bought her first property. She has been renting Le Petit Manoir for the last 5 years. She was a teacher in the UK but about seven years ago, swapped that for the cut and thrust of the antiques world. |
