Welcome to Indre by Chris Mooney
From the sprawling Brenne marshland and the splendid Valley de L'Indre, to the majestic châteaux at Valençay and Azay-le-Ferron, the Indre combines flora & fauna with an architectural and cultural heritage.

There are so many different activities to enjoy in the Indre; this is just a sample to whet your appetite:-

The "Maison du Parc" (Parc Visitor Centre) – Brenne National Parc
Occupying the restored buildings of a traditional farm, the "Maison du Parc" is open throughout the year: there's a choice of eight different slide shows in English, temporary exhibitions, interactive displays about birds, an information centre, a sales area with local produce and locally made articles, as well as a bar where more delicious local produce is served. An expert naturalist is present at weekends and everyday during the peak seasons, to give information on the local fauna and flora and where and how to see it.
Château Park and Gardens of Azay-le-Ferron
The Château (open to the public) looks over remarkable gardens, and a park with many trees more than a hundred years old.
18 Hole Golf Course and Spa Centre at La Roche-Posay
The town of La Roche-Posay on the River Creuse boasts an 18 hole Golf Course adjacent to the world famous Spa and Fitness Centre. The town has several bars and restaurants, and a free supply of spa water is dispensed from outside the Town Hall.
Medieval City of Loches
The Medieval City of Loches, dominated by the Citadel and Castle on the banks of the River Indre, is a memorable day out. Explore the history and enchantment of this compact and easily accessible town with cobbled street, market squares, bars, restaurants and traditional shops, overlooked by the imposing Citadel and Castle perched high over the town. In the summer, torchlight processions meander through the town, and wonderful French markets are held in the market square.
The Haute-Touche Animal Park
Within the park are not only African animals (monkeys, hyenas, cheetahs...) but also, set in a 500 ha forest, more than a thousand animals, many part of international conservation programmes. There is also a unique collection of deer.
Futuroscope
In conclusion, if you are a lover of all things French, Indre is the place for you to find your perfect haven.
